REDTAIL CATTLE COMPANY
Redtail Cattle Company

Our
Cattle

Polled Herefords and Angus, raised with purpose. Our cattle are at the center of both our family farm and the beef program we are building for the future.

Two breeds • One standard

Hereford or Angus. Your choice.

As Redtail grows, our beef customers will be able to choose the breed that fits what they want for their family. Both breeds are part of our beef program, while our Herefords also have a special place in Kensley's show program.

Polled Herefords

Herefords are where the Redtail story began. Kensley is our only showman and shows our Herefords, while the whole family works behind the scenes caring for the cattle and keeping the farm moving.

Our Herefords are also part of our beef program. Customers will be able to select Hereford beef when reserving a quarter, half, or whole.

Angus

Angus cattle are being added specifically as part of Redtail's growing beef operation. They give our future customers another choice while allowing us to expand the farm-to-table side of the business.

Our Angus are for beef production — Kensley does not show Angus. As the herd grows, we will add individual cattle and availability to this page.

What's the difference?

Hereford vs. Angus Beef

Both are proven beef breeds capable of producing excellent beef. Here is a simple look at the eating qualities customers often care about most.

Redtail Foundation Breed

Hereford

Taste

Rich, traditional beef character with a hearty, beef-forward eating experience.

Flavor

Full beef flavor. Proper finishing, aging, and cooking have a major influence on the final flavor.

Being added to expand our beef-production program and give customers another breed choice.

So which one should you choose?

There isn't a wrong answer. Breed is only part of what makes great beef. How cattle are raised, cared for, finished, processed, aged, and cooked all contribute to the quality on your table. At Redtail, the choice is yours: Hereford or Angus.

Raised the Redtail Way

HORMONE FREE • GRASS FED • GRAIN FINISHED

Our cattle are raised with care from pasture to plate. All Redtail beef cattle are hormone free and grass fed, then grain finished to develop the marbling, tenderness, and rich beef flavor we want to bring to your family's table.

The Show Ring

Kensley's Herefords

Kensley is the showman at Redtail. Showing Herefords gives her a place to put the lessons of farm life into practice — responsibility, patience, preparation, animal care, and the confidence that comes from doing the work.

Although Kensley is the one in the ring, getting there is a family effort. Feeding, grooming, hauling, practicing, cleaning, and caring for the cattle happens long before show day.
